Abstract

In this work, we have applied TSWM (thermal square wave method at single-frequency) to investigate the impact of doping on the pyroelectric coefficient profile which characterizes the polarization depth profile of ferroelectrics. Sr 0.61 Ba 0.39 Nb 2 O 6 (SBN) single crystals were used as a model ferroelectric due to their specific thermal properties. The coefficient of thermal diffusion required for the calculation of pyroelectric profile was estimated using phonon lifetimes extracted from IR reflectivity spectra. The results are compared with those determined using a laser-flash measurements. The influence of Cr, Eu and Rh on the polarization profile of SBN single crystals was studied.
