Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of budesonide plus magnesium sulfate on serum IgE and interleukin-17 (IL-17) in children with acute bronchial asthma. Methods 86 children with acute bronchial asthma were randomly divided into the observation group (n =43 cases) and the control group (n =43 cases). The children in control group were treated through the conventional treatment plus intraveneous hormone, and the children in the observation group were treated through the conventional treatment plus budesonide and magnesium sulfate. They were treated for 7 days.Serum IgE and IL-17 were detected before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.7 %,which was significantly higher than 88.4% of the control group (x2 =5.24,P < 0.05).Serum IgE and IL-17 levels were decreased after treatment in both two groups (t =21.7119,13.0190,11.2647,7.1588,P < 0.01),and compared with the control group, those in the observation group were significantly lower (t =13.8141,5.1214,all P <0.05).Conclusion Budesonide plus magnesium sulfate can significantly decrease serum IgE and IL-17 in children with acute bronchial asthma. Key words: Bronchial asthma; Budesonide; Magnesium sulfate; IgE ; IL-17
