Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examines the nonlinear relationship between the digital economy and carbon emission intensity using Panel Smooth Transition Regression (PSTR) based on data from cities between 2010 and 2019. As environmental regulation intensity increases, the positive impact of the digital economy on carbon emission intensity gradually diminishes. This study offers a novel perspective on the interplay between the digital economy and carbon emission intensity within the context of environmental regulation.
