Abstract

The K π = 2 − band in 182W has been investigated through the measurement of the g-factors of the two members of this band. The PAC measurements were made on the γ-γ cascades in the decay of 182Ta under an externally applied magnetic field. The g K and g R factors have been determined through precession measurements on the 2 − 1289 keV and 3 − 1374 keV levels as g(22) = 0.86±0.11, g(32) = 0.67±0.10, g K = 1.05±0.12 and g R = 0.48±0.09. The g K value is in agreement with an almost pure two-quasiparticle configuration of pp{[514]↑-[402]↑} for this band.
