Abstract

The first reliable detection in Belgorod region of Sceliphron deforme (F. Smith, 1856), an Asian species of sphecids, expanding its area on territory of European Russia, is reported. Females of S. deforme were caught in cottages on outskirts of Belgorod town and in Tavolzhanka village (Novooskolskiy District, Belgorod Region) in July 2021. The registration of the species in Belgorod region is currently the most western in European part of Russia.
