Abstract

The term customary law in Russian literature from the second half of the nineteenth century refers to unwritten norms, based on custom, that regulated economic, everyday, and family life within the village, as well as the various civil relations of peasants among themselves (transactions, agreements, etc.) and the measures established for dealing with violations of the law.
