Abstract

68 patients with duodenal ulcer (DU) with fixed metal and metal-ceramic dentures were examined, the significant changes in metabolism of the periodontal extracellular matrix (ECM) components were established, hyperproduction of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1) and lack of TGF-β1 with anabolic action in the blood, accompanied by intense oxidative stress (OS) and depletion of the factors of antioxidant protection (AOP), which are the basis of progressive teeth loss. Complex therapy of patients with DU including L-glutathione and nemoliks NW (biovafleks, bosvelliya Serrat, Curcumin C3) helps to restore metabolic processes of ECM components, which provide the probable increase of synthesis intensity of collagen, glycosaminoglycans and glycoproteins on the background of a possible reduction in intensity of collagenolysis and fukoglycoproteins degradation. This therapy helps to reduce the blood content of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1) and to recover of the TGF-β1 pool with anabolic action in the blood, to reduce the intensity of the OS, to increase AOP factors, which is active prevention of the further tooth loss and the need for prosthetics.
