Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the effect of Learn English Vocabulary application in teaching students’ vocabulary mastery at the First Grade of MTs Nurul Yaqin Dawi-dawi. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental using an on-equivalent control group design. The variables of this study consisted of two variables, namely learn English vocabulary as the independent variable and students' vocabulary mastery as the dependent variable. The samples in this study were students of class 7a and 7b of MTs Nurul Yaqin Dawi-dawi. Class 7a consists of 28 students consisting of 15 boys and 13 girls and class 7b consists of 34 students consisting of 12 boys and 22 girls. The research instruments learn English vocabulary application and vocabulary test. Data collection techniques were pre-test, treatment, and post-test. It was found that there was an effect of learn English vocabulary application in teaching students’ vocabulary mastery at the First Grade of MTs Nurul Yaqin Dawi-dawi. This can be seen from the average value of the post-test (83.14), which is higher than the average value of the pre-test (50.36). The results showed that T-test > T-table (10.781>2.052). The alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, means that there is significant effect between the use of applicatian and students’ vocabulary achievement.
