Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of extended nursing service in improving satisfaction of discharged patients from General Surgery Department,to provide guidance in improving the quality of nursing service.Methods 218 hospitalized patients in General Surgery Department in our hospital from February 2009 to December 2011 were randomly divided into observation group and control group.Rehabilitation knowledge and satisfaction degree of two groups were compared.Results Disease knowledge,medication knowledge,rehabilitation training and doctor-patient contact in observation group were better than those in control group (P < 0.05 or 0.01).Satisfaction degree of observation group was 98.3%,obviously superior to 89.0% of control group (P < 0.01).Conclusion Extended nursing service contributes to promote the level of rehabilitation knowledge and satisfaction of patients,which is a new model of care,worthy of application in medical institutions.
