Abstract

Objective To study the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on anxiety and depression of patients with cervical disc herniation.Methods Eighty patients with cervical disc herniation were divided into two groups randomly:observation group with 40 cases and control group with 40 cases.The control group was received routine nursing and health education.The observation group on the basis of routine treatment and nursing intervention was received comprehensive nursing including supportive intervention,behavioral intervention,educational intervention,group intervention,family intervention,relaxation therapy and recreation therapy.All of them were assessed about anxiety and depression with Zung's self rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self - rating depression scale ( SDS ).Results The observation group patients'mood of anxiety and depression were reduced significantly by the intervention.The scores of SAS,SDS were significantly lower than those of control group,the differences had statistical significance (P <0.01 ),but the scores of SAS,SDS in control group were not,the differences had not statistical significance (P > 0.05 ).Conclusions The anxiety and depression of patients with cervical disc herniation are reduced effectively after comprehensive nursing intervention,it is worth promoting.
