Abstract

Results: According to BMI 24 medical students (26.9%) were obese. From each gender, 14.0% female and 50.0% male were obese. Male students were significantly (p = 0.000) more obese than female students. According to levels of activity, students with low activity were 4 (4.5%), moderate were 9 (10.1%), and high were 76 (85.4%). Of female students 82.5% and male students 90.6% were highly active (p = 0.363). Female and male students with low-moderate activity have a higher risk of obesity compared to students with high activity (OR = 1.708; 95% CI = 0.291—10.035) and (OR = 2.143; 95% CI = 0. 174—26.329) respectively. Conclusion: Male gender and low-moderate activity are risk factors of obesity in medical students.
