Abstract

As seen in all the parts of the world, Turkey encounters a crisis of labour. Each of the trends of job insecurity, problems of health and safety at workplaces, de-unionization, unemployment, sub-contracting, degeneration of class identity and solidarity that develop with the precarious employment, compose the most important issues of labour in Turkey as in large part of the world. This study investigates the unique political, cultural and economic factors within Turkey that combines with the global issues of labour; analyses the shape and size of the crisis of labour in Turkey and discusses the actual and urgent issues like the status of subcontracting workers. The roles of all social, cultural, economic and political dynamics in the crisis of labour are attempted to be explored.
