Abstract
The article is concerned with the personal identity of Sami adolescents living in the Arctic territories of Russia. The empirical study is aimed at exploring specific features of personal identity in Sami boys and girls during adolescence in comparison with Теория, стратегии 29 their ethnic Russian peers of the same age. While studying personal identity, the authors analysed the specifics in manifestation of various components of personal identity in Sami adolescents in comparison with their ethnic Russian age-mates, as well as the dynamics of personal identity of Sami adolescents in transition from the age of 12-13 to the age of 14-15. The obtained data expand the modern psychological understanding of identity development patterns in adolescence, of how human psyche functions in a changing world, and further define the substantive characteristics of the psychological portrait of today’s teenager.
