Abstract

Due to the shortcomings of the traditional inductive current sensor and optical current sensor, a new type of current sensor with the application of Giant Magnetostrictive Material (GMM) is designed in this paper. This device has the advantages of none transient magnetic saturation, high precision, high response speed, and immune to environment temperature change. The structure design and operating principle of the GMM current sensor are introduced. Analyze the bias magnetic field, prestress force and material characteristics, and select the standard size of the GMM stick. Finally study the magnetic field interference on the application of electric transmission line one-phase measurement.
