Abstract

The supine hypotensive syndrome occurs due to the gravid uterus compressing the inferior vena cava when a pregnant woman lies in a supine position, resulting in reduced central venous return also known as inferior vena cava compression. syndrome Supine hypotension syndrome results in signs of shock and by a decrease in maternal blood pressure. This may result in life-threatening complications in the mother and fetus. To reduce the incidence of supine hypotension syndrome, a few practices were recommended by authors in maternal positioning during Lower abdominal cesarean section (LSCS) surgeries'.
