Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of oxaliatin combined with capecltabine in treatment of advanced gastric cancer.Methods Thirty-five patients with advanced gastric cancer were enoued into this study.They.received 2h intravenous infusion of oxaliplatin 130mg/m2 on day 1 and oral administration of capecitabine 2500/m2,given in two daily doses,on day 1 ~ 14.The regimen was repeated every 21 days.They were treated for two cycles.Results 2 patients achieved CR,17 patients achieved PR,10 patients achieved SD,6 patients achieved PD,the overall response rate(CR +PR) was 54.3%,and the disease control rate(CR +PR + SD) was 82.9%,median survival time was 11.5 months.One-year survival rate was 42.0%.The most common adverse events were myelosuppression peripheral neuropathy,diarrhea,nausea/vomiting,and hand-foot syndrome.Conclusion Chemotherapy of oxaliplatin combined capecitabin is effective and well toleraled to the patients with advanced gastric cancer.It is worthy of further clinical research.
