Abstract
The basic karyotype of L. tenuis is illustrated. The study of Feulgen stained metaphases has shown that the chromosome complement consists of four pairs of median chromosomes and two pairs of submedian chromosomes. Two nucleolar constrictions characterize the first homologous pair. The C-banding pattern includes large pericentric bands in each chromosome pair and a terminal band in the short arm of chromosome 3
