Abstract

The study aims to identify the attitudes toward the political reform process in Jordan from the perspectives of Al-Balqa Applied University students at the main campus. The study sample consisted of (400) male and female students who were selected according to the stratified random sampling method. A scale was developed to measure students' attitudes toward the political reform process in Jordan. Results revealed that the political reform process in Jordan is generally moderated as there are some encountered challenges. The political and legislative challenges were at the forefront. While there were significant statistical differences in the level of the actual political reform according to the student’s gender in favor of males, there were significant statistical differences according to the college type in favor of humanities. Further, there were significant statistical differences in the level of encountered challenges according to the gender variable in favor of male students at the total score of political challenges, political and legislative challenges, and institutional challenges whereas in favor of female students at the cultural challenges sub-scale. The results also showed that there were significant statistical differences in the level of encountered political challenges according to the college type in favor of humanities.
