Abstract

The article undertakes an analysis of the artistic aspects of V.N. Chekrygin’s creative activity based on the article by A.V. Bakushinsky, “Exhibition of works by V.N. Chekrygin”, in the magazine “Russian Art” (1923). The author highlights the specificity of the critic’s research approach in defining the artist’s individual style, linked to the reflection of socio-cultural phenomena of the time, the nature of the artist’s process in creating the series of drawings “Resurrection of the dead” and the substantiation of the problematic nature of coexisting contradictory stylistic tendencies in these works.
