Abstract

Objective To study the therapeutic effects of repairing operative wound by using extended latissimus dorsi(ELD) muscul ocutaneous flap after modified radical mastectomy. Methods Modified radical mastectomy was carried out in 10 patients. And then the repair of wound was performed with ELD muscul ocutaneous flap in all patients. Results All patients obtained the successful repair. All of cases were followed up for 6 months to 3 years and excellent effect were obtained. Conclusion Modified latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap to overcome the shortcoming of volume deficiency of traditional latissimus dorsi, and it is a safe and easymanipulated surgical operation.
