Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of peer support group nursing on the treatment compliance, mental state and adverse reactions of patients undergoing thoracolumbar surgery, and to provide evidence for improving the surgical treatment effect. Methods A total of 65 patients underwent thoracolumbar tuberculosis surgery admitted to this hospital from November 2014 to September 2016 were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with routine health education nursing. The observation group was treated with the peer support group nursing on the basis of the control group. The patients' treatment compliance, psychological status and postoperative complications were statistically compared one month after operation. Results The treatment compliance rate was 93.90% in the observation group and 59.30% in the control group. The treatment compliance of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). The score of mental state improvement integral difference of the observation group was (67.42±28.58) in the observation group and the score of mental state improvement integral difference of the control group was (36.04±15.50) in the control group. The improvement of the mental state of the observation group was better than that of the control group and the anxiety status of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 6.10% and the incidence of postoperative complications in the control group was 34.30%.The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusions The nursing model of peer support group plays an important role in improving the thoracolumbar tuberculosis surgery, which can effectively improve the patient's preoperative treatment compliance, improve the mental state of the patients and reduce the occurrence of patients' postoperative complications.
