Abstract
L’œuvre de l’écrivain américain contemporain Harry Crews se base sur une représentation abjecte du corps. Dans ses romans, les sentiments de séquestration et d’aliénation sont transposés dans une lutte constante des personnages avec leurs propres fluides corporels. En se basant sur l’essai majeur de Julia Kristeva, Pouvoirs de l’Horreur, nous démontrons comment ces corps fragmentés se présentent chez Crews, notamment à travers des comparaisons avec des artistes contemporains (Cindy Sherman, Francis Bacon) et comment elle s’inscrit dans une tradition du gothique.
