Abstract

The task of textbooks has been recently discussed a lot. The textbook is often considered as a basic teaching material which includes the knowledge according to a given curriculum. That is why the article deals with textbooks within the education system in its first part. The second one illustrates the results of a survey on textbooks for technical subjects. The survey was realised at secondary vocational schools in Slovakia. This topic has been a part of the KEGA Project 026STU-4/2011: `rsquo;Quality Assessment Model of Vocational Education and Training at Secondary Vocational Schools in Slovakia'rsquo;.
