Abstract

A modified approach of the Mie-Gruneisen equation of state has been attempted in the present work leading to an evaluation of bulk moduli at different temperatures for CdTe, Si and NaClO3. The Debye temperatures involved have no more been considered as constant, but have been calculated as a function of temperature by de Launay–s and by Betts– methods. The average of these values has been used for the present estimations of bulk moduli. The involved Gruneisen parameters have also been taken as dependent on temperature. The agreement with the experimental values is good enough to prove the validity of an equation similar to Wachtman–s for all solids in which we assumed that the main change of bulk modulus with temperature arises from the associated small volume changes.
