Abstract

The Fourier analysis is applied to the investigation of retarded and advanced fields of a point charge. The method that is used enables one to calculate the instantaneous value of the total point charge field in the whole of threedimensional space. It is shown that both retarded and advanced fields can be expressed in a form of infinite series which is separable in a Lorentz-invariant way into two infinite series representing different fields, the field tied up to the particle and radiation field.
