Abstract

Temperature dependent Raman studies have been carried out on free standing thin films of (Poly(vinylidene fluoride)) incorporated with nano‐crystalline (Cadmium sulphide). Well‐defined signatures of both PVDF as well as CdS could be observed from the Raman spectra of the composite films. Peak shifts toward higher wavenumber for modes of CdS were observed at low temperature. Doping dramatically modulates the phases of polyvinyldene fluoride (PVDF). Microstructural studies revealed additional granular structure on incorporation of CdS nanoparticles into the otherwise fibrous PVDF. Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) study confirms the elemental composition of the samples. The thermal conductivity of the composite film was obtained from Raman studies. POLYM.
