Abstract

The termination of relationships is a complex process for clients, interns and supervisors. Negotiating this process can be facilitated by utilizing the concepts of parallel processes in supervision. Bases on the notions of parallel process this paper provides a framework for assisting supervisors in training interns to effectively terminate thier relationships with clients, supervisors and field placements . The significant role of schools of social work and field liaisons in facilitation supervisors to adequately manage these complex terminating processes with trainees are discussed.
