Abstract

For some years Systems Designers Limited has been involved in a variety of simulation related activities. In particular this has included the implementation of simulation languages for the Ministry of Defence, United Kingdom. This work included the development of the DSL77 language. In 1981 a new venture was undertaken to develop SYSMOD, a language which in its earliest form will be conditioned to support the ‘continuous' time modelling formalism with discrete capability as well. The language is a complete departure from the previous ‘67 specification languages both in form and facilities. The realisation of the language has focussed attention on both new and contemporary design issues in the area of simulation language run-time environments.
