Abstract

This research work reports the preparation of Ribociclib based on the green chemical principles such as third principle (less hazardous chemical synthesis), fifth principle (Safer solvents) and ninth principle catalysis of green chemistry that were planned and executed. Harmful solvent (chlorinated solvents)-free methodologies were executed. Highly abundant and ecofriendly Fe metal was employed for the reduction of –NO2 group to the corresponding –NH2. Phase transfer catalytic reactions were optimized twice in the coupling reactions by using simple carbonates in the preparation of side chain building and thereafter its coupling with Ribociclib precursor. A potential method for industrial practice has been executed here which is both eco- and economically friendly.
