Abstract

Stoichiometric SrMoO 4 thin films were deposited on Si (100) or glass substrates by means of spin-coating technique. XRD patterns of the films reveal that SrMoO 4 films prepared are well crystalline ones even at the temperature of 40–50°C, and the patterns of the thin films annealed at various temperatures imply the crystallization of strontium molybdate without the intermediate formation phases. The surface morphology of the films on Si (100) substrate was studied by using AFM, which shows the formation of nano-sized particles prior to heat treatment. Photoluminescence analysis indicates the emission of the films at 484 nm under UV excitation of 276 nm at room temperature.
