Abstract
Cationic iron arenecyclopentadienyl complexes were synthesized from phenylene- and naphthylenecarborane oligomers. The variation of molecular mass characteristic of the oligomers during complexation was followed. Thermodegradation of the cationic complexes in the oligomer matrix, proceeding between 200 and 350°C in air or in vacuo, was followed by spectroscopic and chromatographic methods. The composition of degradation products is shown to depend on the character of the arene ligand.
