Abstract
Abstract Optical properties of cadmium oxide and uranium-doped CdO thin films synthesized by the sol-gel technique were investigated. The structural properties of the films were investigated using X-ray diffraction patterns of U-doped CdO. It was found that CdO-based films have a cubic NaCl structure. Structural properties of the films were investigated with atomic force microscopy (AFM). Reflectance, transmittance and absorption spectra of the films were measured with UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The photoluminescence (PL) behavior of the films was recorded using a fluorescence spectrophotometer. It was found that the nanostructure of the cadmium oxide film is controlled by U doping.
