Abstract

Ecological products manufacturing for engineering applications is the need of an hour for every manufacturing sector. Additive manufacturing is most suitable for complex geometry polymers products but bio based polymers and composites are still not developed as an alternative material to replace conventional polymers causing pollution and disposal issues. The goal of this research is to create bio composites made of Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) and bio waste fillers. Using a single screw extruder, four varieties of 1.75 mm diameter filaments were created and composite specimens were printed on commercial printer for testing of hardness, melting point, tensile strength, flexural strength. It has been observed that we can develop hybrid bio composites 3 D printing filaments successfully and 3 D printed specimens after testing shows that reduction in hardness, considerable improvement in tensile strength, melting point, and flexural strength.
