Abstract
Solution reaction of CuI and the ligand 4-bpfob [4-bpfob = N,N′-(1,2-phenylene)diisonicotinamide] led to the formation of a novel coordination polymer [CuI(4-bpfob)(HCN)(DMF)]n that exhibited an unusual one-dimensional helical structure. The compound was characterized by X-ray crystallography, infrared spectroscopy, fluorescence spectrum, and thermal analyses. This compound crystallized in triclinic system, space group P–1, with cell parameters of a = 8.3343(17) Å, b = 11.242(2) Å, c = 12.596(3) Å, α = 99.61(3)°, β = 93.11(3)°, and γ = 92.97(3)°.
