Abstract
Oropharyngeal dysphagia is defined by disturbing the passage of the food bowl from the mouth to the esophagus. Swallowing disorders may be the first sign of a tumor pathology in the upper aerodigestive pathways. Sometimes an insidious screening is required in search for an occult primary tumor, representing a complex and difficult approach. In cervical-facial tumor pathology, swallowing disorders are a diagnostic element, a post-therapeutic evolution element, as well as an important element of quality of postoperative life. We present a series of clinical cases that illustrate significantly the importance of swallowing disorders in cervical-facial tumor pathology, referring to the diagnosis stage, but also to the postoperative recovery stage.
