Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of "new elites", proposed by K. Lash, his idea of "rebellion of the elites" in the context of the concept of sustainable development. The “revolt of the elites” is viewed through the prism of the problem: does the concept of sustainable development really serve as a tool for perpetuating social inequality and strengthening the autonomous existence of the super-rich and the super-poor? The addressee and addressees of the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030 are identified. An interpretation is given to the first five goals of sustainable development. The conclusion is made about the manipulative application of the concept of sustainable development by the "new elites" in order to globally reformat social reality to fit their narrow group needs.
