Abstract
SUMMARY A seven years old turtle (Testudo hermani) was diag nosed with cloacal prolapse. General anesthesia was performed using ketamine 50mg/kg I.M. Induction time was 45 minutes. The prolapsed tissue was lavaged with ster ile saline solution and Betadine solution. Using a forceps all cloacal tissue was reposed in n ormal position. A continue suture with silk was applied at cloacal area. Complete recovery after general anesthesia was afte r 24 hours. All this time the turtle was kept in warm conditions (24 O C).
