Abstract

ABSTRACT A black rat snake, Elaphe obsoleta, with a three month history of a gastrointestinal foreign body was presented for evaluation. Radiographs and surgery were performed to remove an artificial chicken “egg” from the lumen of the intestine. The snake recovered uneventfully and remains healthy.
