Abstract

The surface potentials of semiconductors are a function of the impurity distributions and surface charges. The surface charges originate from surface states. The formulation of the potential distribution yields a second-order, non-linear differential equation. The surface charge versus surface potential function can easily be established by means of this equation in a simple computer program for any impurity distribution.
