Abstract

A simple and accurate pulse shape discrimination method is described for coincidence spectrometers using Ge(Li) detectors. Gamma ray pulses degraded by electron interaction in Ge(Li) detector's dead layers are rejected within 40% by delaying the Ge(Li) crossover signals. Spectra given by a Ge(Li)NaI(Tl) three-crystal pair spectrometer with and without rejection are shown. Results are compared with elaborated and much more expensive methods.
