Abstract

In this paper, the cross-correlation noise is studies among orthogonal coding signals for multiple-input multiple-output synthetic aperture radar (MIMO-SAR). Based on the point spread functions (PSF) of matched and mismatched filtering among multiple orthogonal coding signals, it is shown that the cross-correlation noise cannot be ignored among different transmitting waveforms in MIMO-SAR and should be eliminated as far as possible to improve the imaging quality. To solve this problem, a novel method called Waveform Estimation Based on Clean algorithm (WEBOCA) to separate orthogonal coding waveforms is proposed in this paper. Finally, the results of numerical experiments are also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
