Abstract

As companies race to forge postpandemic business models, entrenched corporate finance and IT organizations, hampered by siloed workflows, patchwork processes, and narrow technical acumen, may prove to be the greatest barrier to meaningful digital transformation. Gartner1 recently found that CFOs lacked confidence in timely completion of key digital acceleration projects, including enhanced data analytics, robotic process automation technologies, and employee up-skilling. If ultimately true, digital transformation risks being the latest, frustrating “IT project” remembered for inflated promises, cost overruns, and few results.
