Abstract
Subdural empyema consists in a pus collection located between dura mater and arachnoid. Rhinosinusitis, otitis media and mastoiditis are the most common causes of subdural empyema. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance are essential in the diagnosis of this pathology. The treatment of subdural empyema consists in immediate surgical drainage through craniotomy or by burr hole placement. The authors describe a subdural empyema caused by chronic suppurative otitis media that was drained by otoneurosurgical approach.
