Abstract

The Polygonum Cuspidatum Sieb.et Zucc natural pigments were compounded with PBS in different proportions in this research, and the performances of the dyed films were studied. The results showed that the pigments size in the dyed films were 5 ∼ 8 µm, and had little effect to the crystallization morphology of PBS. The crystallinity of the dyed films increased with the content of the pigment increasing. Although the mechanical properties of dyed films decreased slightly, all the films had good thermal stability and had some inhibition againstStaphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. There may occur hydrogen bonds between the pigments and PBS.
