Abstract

Nano-porous hydroxyapatite (HAp)-DNA composite film modified glassy carbon electrode was prepared by sol-gel one-step method for the first time. DNA was immobilized on the nano-porous HAp film firmly due to its effective adsorbability and biocompatibility and the structure of macromolecule of DNA plays an important role in the stabilization of HAp film. Studies on the interaction of DNA with non-electroactive core-shell CdTe/CdS quantum dots were carried out using the DNA/HAp modified electrode by cyclic voltammetry and impedance analysis. The results showed that DNA immobilized on the HAp film was stably enough for the electrochemical studies and there exists a remarkable intercalative interaction mode between QDs and DNA and the intercalative interaction could influence the configuration of DNA. This studies can provide important theoretical basis for the study on the toxicity of QDs and a new thinking for the study on the interaction of DNA with non-electroactive molecules using electrochemical methold.
