Abstract

An excellent hydrophobic geopolymer (GP) composite modified by fatty acid and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) with high mechanical strength was prepared successfully. The results of this research show that, when the mass fraction of fatty acid and PDMS were 50 % and 5 % respectively, the maximum water contact angle, 24 h minimum water absorption and maximum softening coefficient of GP obtained by composite modification method could reach 143°, 0.36 % and 0.88, respectively. Meanwhile, the maximum compressive strength exceeds 47.25 MPa.
