Abstract
The F-center absorption energy that corresponds to the K transitions is studied, using the point-ion and ion-size correction models. Five types of wave functions are considered, and the corresponding energies are obtained. The resulting theoretical energies are compared with the available optical data. The agreement is good for one of the wave functions.
