Abstract

The authors have studied the influence of the conditions of graft polymerization of methyl acrylate to (ethylene oxy) cellulose (EOC) on the physicochemical indicators of grafted copolymers. The formation of grafted copolymers is confirmed by IR spectroscopy. From the dependence of the efficacy of grafting on the concentration of (ethylene oxy) and monomer and also the kinetics of degradation of persulphate in presence of EOC, the nitroxide radical and the monomer it is concluded that reactions involving an initiator and its radicals play a role in the process of graft polymerization.
