Abstract

In this paper, a one-dimensional mathematical model of a vapor-compression climate system was created, taking into account the characteristics of real equipment, and a study was made of the thermodynamic efficiency of the cycles of a vapor-compression climate system of an electric bus in a stationary and non-stationary setting in the cold season using freons R134a, R290, R407c, R410a, R404a, R507a, R600a and R1234yf. The heat output of the vapor-compression climate system in the heat pump mode is significantly reduced compared to the chiller mode, due to the large temperature difference in the evaporator and condenser. The air conditioner showed the highest heat output when using freons R290, R407c, R410a and R507a. Keywords: air conditioning, heating, vapor compression refrigeration, HVAC, efficiency, freon, electric heavy duty vehicle, electric bus
