Abstract

The article gives a brief survey of the theoretical and experimental studies on the diffusion of neutrons in a heterogeneous medium with empty channels. It describes experiments for measuring the diffusion lengths in the longitudinal and transverse directions by an exponential method in graphite prisms with parallel channels with a radius of 8 mm, forming a square lattice with an interval of 2.00 or 2.83 cm. The measurement results agree with the calculated data.
